Inter-school Art Competition on International Mother Language Day

The International Mother Language Day on 21st February is observed worldwide to
promote the awareness of the cultural diversity, linguistic and multilingualism. 21st
February is also known as the ‘Amor Ekushey’, the root of the Bengali Nationalism
and an independent country, Bangladesh. Marking the International Mother Language
Day, ESS organized a virtual drawing competition to its students.
Outdoor gatherings are not safe during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic so we ESS
organized a virtual drawing competition on 21st February International Mother
Language Day (February – 2021). Since 1952, 21 February has been observed every
year to commemorate the martyrs of the Language Movement. With UNESCO
adopting a resolution on 17 November 1999 proclaiming 21 February as international
mother language day. It is an honor bestowed by the international community on the
Language Movement of Bangladesh.
